The Beauty and Benefits of
Summer Enrichment Learning

Summer enrichment learning is key to building a foundation of confidence, character, and choices for your child. Summer learning is not about being stuck in a classroom while the sun is shining outside. Summer learning is a smart solution for both bored and talented teens, full-time working parents, a poor performing school year, social awkwardness and interaction, and the endless hours of playing video games leading to a sedentary summer resulting in the loss of learning, weight gain, and potential gaming disorder.

Here are some really good reasons why a parent, guardian, family member, or friend should invest in a summer enrichment learning experience for a child:

  • Summer learning can boost a child’s academic performance for the coming school year and improve on the challenges of the previous school year. Whether it is reading, math, or writing, summer learning programs allow children to focus and revisit concepts while helping to minimize fear and/or anxiety.

  • Summer learning can be, for many children, a way to help with transitions, develop healthy and effective study styles, and improve upon their organizational skills while taking on new challenges. Summer learning can allow them a smoother, soft introduction to their next level of development.

  • Summer learning provides activities and opens new experiences — everything from theater and visual arts to nature walks and rock climbing — that children might otherwise miss out on. Often in beautiful settings that nourish their spirit, bringing calmness to their minds and bodies while exploring a new community of teachers and friends. For young, talented athletes it exposes them to healthy, organized, competitive sports.

  • Summer learning gives children an opportunity to discover new concepts and ideas outside of their traditional school and classroom. It provides them a chance to trust in their abilities to perform without judgment or criticism while developing character, resilience, and self-assurance.

  • Summer learning is a wise investment for parents. For families who may not have access to additional educational resources, such as after-school programs, Saturday enrichment, and holiday break vacations during the traditional school year, these programs can be crucial in keeping your child on track.

  • Summer enrichment learning may help your child develop a lifelong love of learning.
